"Be still and know that I am God"

January 21, 2018

You’ve prayed, fasted, prayed a bit more, read your bible, subscribed to dozens of Christian channels. Pleaded with God, cried to God, demanded from God but nothing seems to be working. Your situation seems to be stuck, so what now?

God says “be still and know that I am God”. The reason why things don’t always work out instantly, despite our efforts,  is because we’re not God. We are not all powerful or all knowing. But the good news is, we don’t have to be.

God doesn’t want us to constantly try and fix things ourselves because if we could why would we need him. Sometimes it feels harder to sit still and do nothing than to exhaust ourselves trying to fix things. But contrary to the beliefs of our culture, surrendering to God can be the best way to fight.

It is in the stillness that we can overcome with God’s peace and truly allow God to take control. This peace comes from releasing ourselves from the pressure to fix everything and knowing that an all powerful, all knowing and all loving God is fighting on our behalf .

So today I encourage you to let go and let God and you’ll be surprised at what He can do...if you just let him.
