Exodus 13:17-18

January 12, 2019

When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle. – Exodus 13:17-18

Sometimes we think that just because we are Christians, we won’t face obstacles and therefore we are surprised when they come our way. Yet God always knows what lies ahead and knows why He is taking you on a specific route to your destination. Not everyone's journey is the same. God may direct you on a longer route which requires you to trust Him more and develop as a person. So don’t compare yourself to other peoples journey. You and your peers may have similar goals but don’t feel let down if your journey is taking longer than others. Everything will fall into place at in God’s timing.
