Genesis 26:1-15

January 13, 2019

There was a great famine/drought where Isaac lived, yet God told Isaac not to go to Egypt (where there was no famine). Would you feel conflicted if God told you to do the opposite of what you thought made perfect sense? Isaac had every reason to go to Egypt, but He obeyed God regardless. God promised that he would reap what he sowed in the famine land and God stuck to His promise (as He always does). Isaac gained so much more from just listening to God than he would have done if he went to Egypt, because it made sense at the time. Even in drought, God still provided. God will also provide for you. If anyone knows what’s best for you, its God, so trust and obey Him especially when it doesn’t make sense and watch Him bless you abundantly!
